Rec Sports Procedural Modifications

In accordance with the CDC and Virginia Tech’s guidelines, masks will no longer be required in Rec Sports’ facilities. Masks are still encouraged for individuals who choose to wear them for their own comfort and safety.

In order to ensure proper physical distancing, in-person group exercise classes will be limited to 25 members per class. Group Exercise members will only need to register in advance for virtual classes.
All outdoor facilities are open and ready for use. They include:
- Prairie Quad Fitness Park
- Sand volleyball courts
- Basketball courts
- Washington St. Tennis Courts
- Turf Fields
- Challenge Course - Reservation is required
- 9-Hole Golf Course
- The Rec Sports Field House
- Disc Golf Course
- Roller Hockey Rink (reservation required)
Outdoor rec offerings will include rentals for gear such as canoes, camp stoves, SUPs and bikes that can be thoroughly cleaned between uses. Adventure trips will be provided and guide participants through outdoor rec activities across the beautiful region in which we live. The Challenge Course will be open for small group registrations.
Pre-registration is required to climb on the bouldering wall.
Open Recreation: Basketball, Badminton, Pickleball, and Volleyball
The Rec Sports Field House will offer open recreation opportunities to VT students and members with a Rec Sports Membership (VT employees), including badminton, pickleball, volleyball, and basketball.
Small Group Training
Small Group Training formats will be hosted in the weight training area of the Rec Sports Field House.
