Save the Date: 3.2 Run in Remembrance

On April 18th, the Virginia Tech community reflects on the vibrant lives of the 32 students and faculty who were tragically taken from us on April 16, 2007.

Rec Sports provides opportunities for student, faculty, and staff to engage in physical activities to create healthy lifestyle habits. We encourage all Hokies to join the Hokie Movement and find a way to move that works for you!

If the university cancels classes and is closed for the day, Rec Sports facilities will be open for as long as possible to give patrons an opportunity for exercise and recreation; however, recreational programs such as group exercise classes and intramural sports will be cancelled. In an effort to keep students and employees safe, McComas Hall hours will be adjusted based on road, sidewalk and parking lot conditions. If the university delays opening, recreation facilities, including pools, will aim to open two hours prior to the university opening, if conditions permit.

Venture Out trips and programs: Venture Out professional and trip leader staff will assess all weather-related risk prior to trip departure. Venture Out will only operate programs (i.e. trips, clinics, trainings, challenge course) if conditions permit manageable environments for student and community access to outdoor recreation activities, on and off campus. All Recreational Sports closures will be communicated via Recreational Sports’ main phone line at 540-231-6856. The Rec Sports website, Facebook, and Twitter accounts will also have up-to-date information.
