Toughest Hokie: Endurance Obstacle Course Race

Presented by Recreational Sports and the Corps of Cadets

Get ready to unleash your inner warrior at the Toughest Hokie: Endurance Obstacle Race!

A Highty-Tighties horn section jump-starts you from the starting gate, just the right tone for your epic challenge.

From the Upper Quad, you'll double-time to the Pylons for your first high-intensity obstacle: pushups, squats, and burpees to level up your BPM. Next up, it's time to sprint through the shuttle run, pushing your speed and agility to the limit.

The legendary corps O-course awaits*, featuring a net and rope climb, giant hurdles, and wall cross that will test your strength and determination.

Feel the burn as you tackle the uphill sandbag carry, followed by a 50m low crawl, 100m farmer carry, 100m weight drag, an ammo can overhead push, and hanging leg lifts at the Upper Rec Fields.

But the fun doesn't stop there! Hustle over to the Venture Out course for a net climb and a handhold traverse before facing the pinnacle of pump: the Lane Stadium stair climb. Rest up on your way to the Stadium Woods, so you’re ready for the medicine ball high wall throw.

Finish strong with mountain climbers, dips, and pullups before crossing the finish line, proving that you have what it takes to be the Toughest Hokie.

This day is not just about physical strength; it's about comradery, pushing your limits, and having a blast with fellow Hokies.

Join us for a day of unforgettable fun, fierce competition, and esprit de corps. The autumn view of campus is so much more vivid when you’re blinking through sweat!

Let's go, Hokies!

*Elite section includes all events. Novice section includes fewer.

Significance of partnering with the Corps of Cadets

The Corps of Cadets invites you to follow in the footsteps of students and cadets who came 150 years ago as you are physically and mentally pushed to find your limit. Challenge yourself and help celebrate the legacy of Hokie Nation and the 50th anniversary of Women in the Corps of Cadets.

As one of the 6 Senior Military Schools including the 4 Service Academies (West Point, Annapolis, USAFA, Coast Guard Academy), Virginia Tech was the first of all these schools to accept women into the ranks as a Cadet in 1973.  Ut Prosim “That I May Serve” espouses our University’s proud history of service to the Commonwealth and the Nation. Each station in this years race will have a historical significance that will allow you to relive parts of the university you might have never otherwise known.
