March 24th | Part One
Chi Basics & Posture
Discover the joy of running with ease and confidence! This 45-minute workshop introduces the basics of Chi Running, focusing on proper posture, and running form to make your runs more enjoyable and reduce the risk of injuries.
Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just getting started, this clinic will equip you with practical techniques to enhance your experience.
Note: This workshop includes a short presentation and demos.
Athletic attire is ideal but not necessary.

March 25th | Part Two
Running Hills & Efficiency
Take your Chi Running skills to the next level! In this 45-minute session, you’ll learn techniques for running hills with ease and efficiency. The workshop includes hands-on practice, so come ready to move!
Whether you’re new to Chi Running or building on skills from Part 1, this session is designed for all levels.
Location: Pickleball Courts on Washington Street

Free Group Exercise Classes During Hokie Movement Week
As part of Hokie Movement Week, we’re offering free, select group exercise classes for all VT students, faculty, staff, and non-student wage employees—no group exercise pass required!
Here’s how to join, based on your role:
- Students: Attend any of the listed classes (excluding faculty/staff-only classes).
- Faculty, Staff, and Non-Student Wage Employees: Join any of the listed classes, including faculty/staff-only sessions.
Classes open to everyone:
- Cardio Dance
- Bodypump
- TBS (Total Body Strength)
- TREDZ (Treadmill-based class)
Faculty & Staff Exclusive Classes (free this week only):
- Yoga

No group exercise pass required — just bring your Hokie Passport to check in at the service desk and before class.

Free First Friday Fitness: Exclusive Classes for VT Faculty & Staff
Introducing Free First Friday, a monthly class series exclusively for VT faculty and staff! Starting in February and running through May, these classes are completely FREE—no membership required. It’s a great opportunity to try something new, connect with colleagues, and kick off your weekend feeling energized!
Simply bring your staff ID badge to check in and enjoy a variety of fitness classes, each month, designed to boost your well-being.

Get active and connect with colleagues in the fresh air at our Outdoor Fitness Circuit! This strength-based, circuit-style workout is designed exclusively for VT Faculty and Staff, offering a fun and supportive environment to boost your fitness while learning to use the Fitness Park’s equipment.
Whether you're new to outdoor workouts or a seasoned pro, this class welcomes all fitness levels. It's a great opportunity to embrace the outdoors, meet fellow employees, and challenge yourself.

Weekly Fitness Classes, Exclusively for VT Faculty & Staff
Our weekly classes at War Memorial Hall—Body Pump, Body Balance, and Yoga—are exclusively for faculty and staff, providing a private and focused environment to work toward your fitness goals. These sessions are designed for all levels, offering a supportive and motivating space to build strength, improve flexibility, and reduce stress.
Classes run from January 21st through the week of May 7th, with no classes during spring break.
To attend, simply have an active Rec Sports membership!
Weekly Classes
Join Ali, every Tuesday from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM for Body Pump, a high-energy workout that uses light to moderate weights with lots of repetition to build strength and tone muscles.
This class is perfect for anyone looking to challenge themselves and increase overall strength.

Classes run from January 21st through the week of May 7th, with no classes during spring break.
Body Balance takes place every Wednesday from 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM, with Christine, blending yoga, Tai Chi, and Pilates to enhance flexibility, balance, and relaxation. It’s a great way to unwind and recharge midweek while improving your mind-body connection.
