Hokie Feature: Men's Lacrosse
The Men’s Club Lacrosse Team is back in action for the semester, and they are feeling pumped at the ability to compete this season. President Brick Boyle believes that “this could be a huge year” for the team.
Over the past four years, Boyle has really cherished his time with the club.
“It’s a place where, even if you’re not recruited to go play at an NCAA school, it’s something you can come out and do, and there’s still a high level of competition. The best guys I have met at school are out here with me playing lacrosse.”
Speaking on how it feels to lead the team as president, Boyle said, “It’s something special to have guys respect you enough to want you to head a program like this. They trust that I am still able to listen to them and lead the club the way everyone wants it led.”
Face-Off Get-Off (FOGO) player Brady Nauman has only the highest regards for the team.
“My favorite part of the club is the organization and high standards that the coaches expect. They are really invested into our lives and want us to succeed. Also, we work together really well as a team and no one is excluded from anything; it's like one big family.”
Having played their first game in over a year this past Saturday, midfielder Mark Schubert and the rest of the team is ready for more
The team competed against Liberty this past Saturday, March 6, for the first time in over a year. Having gotten a taste for what they’ve been missing, the team is ready for competition.
“Playing games is one of the best parts of playing a sport, and I am looking forward to that this spring,” said midfielder Mark Schubert.
