Videographer - Marketing
The Recreational Sports Marketing Team is hiring a enthusiastic and creative videographer. The videographer will work with the rest of the team to help promote the six areas of Recreational Sports – aquatics, fitness + wellness, intramural sports, sport clubs, open recreation, and outdoor recreation (Venture Out) – with the goal of getting our campus moving. The videographer will come up with creative and innovative ways to present and promote the programs, events, and services offered by Recreational Sports. The goal of the videographer is to generate excitement around Recreational Sports.
The videographer will:
- Maintain 8-12 hours of work a week – in office or on video shoots
- Be present at special events on nights and weekends
- Act as an engaged member of the team by being present, enthusiastic, and focused
- Craft and execute a strategic video plan for the department
- Be a loud and active ambassador of, and cheerleader for, Recreational Sports
Other expectations:
- Participate in professional development opportunities within the department, on campus, at conferences and workshops
- Attend the Recreational Sports Marketing Team retreat, supervisor training, and other applicable workshops
Primary skills needed:
- Creativity and originality
- Understanding of basic stroytelling principals
- Self-starter and initiative in work; able to operate with little direction
- Ability to come up with an idea and see it through to the end – pre-production, production, and post-production
- Ability to multi-task
- A positive attitude
- Enthusiasm for Recreational Sports
Minimum qualifications and requirements:
- Proficient in video recording and camera operation; including sound operation
- Proficient in video editing (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, etc)
- Excited about working for Recreational Sports
- Have a basic understanding of what Recreational Sports does
Preferred qualifications and requirements:
- Studying cinema, communications, multimedia journalism or related field
- Photography skills
