Happiness and Gratitude Groups

About: Join Rec Sports for a 4-week gratitude journey. The world has become quite small and ever so connected due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For most of us, our work is now remote. Feelings of fear, stress, and anxiety have been brought on by the sheer uncertainty of the pandemic.
These four, one-hour facilitated sessions, using the special edition of Gratitude Heals Workbook - Healing the World in a COVID-19 Crisis, will give participants immediate access to information that will inspire and guide them during these challenging times. The content is based on the science of gratitude and supporting insights from the fields of neuroscience and positive psychology. The gratitude exercises will further heighten participants' awareness of the associated health and well-being benefits.
The final session will culminate in a Q and A with author and Virginia Tech alum, Linda Roszak Burton. She will share the insight she has gained through decades of research on gratitude and the positive impacts it has on our mental and physical well-being. She will also give participants the tools they need to continue to actively practice gratitude after the sessions are complete.
6-week Happiness Groups
Even though the declaration of independence tells us differently, happiness is not something you can pursue. It is often a side-effect of the activities that you choose to do. In these six-week happiness sessions, you will learn what does and does not improve your well-being sustainably and how you can bring about that improvement. Each week, we will discuss different topics related to happiness (e.g., prioritizing positivity, social relationships, social comparison, self-compassion, gratitude, mindfulness, goal setting, resilience) and have you practice well-being strategies backed up by science. Give it a try. You can only become happier!
