Facilities – Field House Monitor & Turf Field Supervisor

Position Description

The fieldhouse monitor and turf field supervisor are entry-level positions and aim to provide customer service and assistance to patrons of the facility & turf fields. While providing information on facility services, rules, and regulations for the fieldhouse and turf fields, being a first responder is the top priority (Skills acquired from the Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED training). The fieldhouse monitor & turf field supervisor will work with other rec sports staff to help ensure the operation of a safe, clean, and enjoyable facility experience. Additionally, Recreational Sports consistently strives to create inclusive and welcoming environments, and to promote the importance of well-being and physical activity to all patrons. Lastly, all staff members must have the ability to adopt proactive strategies to help advance the department's safety and risk management initiatives in order to create a positive and safe environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be enrolled at Virginia Tech

Professional CPR/AED/FA, American Red Cross (training can be provided by Rec Sports and must be done within 60 days of hiring)

Ability to pick up a 45lb weight

Must be willing to work in weather as cold as 35° wind-chill in rain, snow, or wind, and temperatures as hot as 100

Pay Rates:

Working/Training Rate – $12

Hiring Timeline:

We hire staff twice per year (April and August commonly) and operate year-round.
