2021 Virtual Run in Remembrance

2021 Virtual Run in Remembrance announced for April 16-18

Updated February 3, 2021

From April 16th-18th, a virtual run in remembrance will be hosted as the Virginia Tech community reflects on the vibrant lives of the 32 students and faculty who were tragically taken from us on April 16, 2007.

The virtual walk/run will be held over a three day period to encourage proper distancing and adherence to state and local guidelines. This event is not supporting physical gatherings and is intended to support social connectedness through physical distancing.

The virtual event features a printable bib and the option to join the Stridekick App’s virtual group journey to log participation with other Hokies. More details will be announced on this webpage and on the 2021 Virtual Run in Remembrance Facebook Event.

This year’s event provides the opportunity to purchase a commemorative 2021 Virtual Run in Remembrance t-shirt (at cost) with shipping or local resident in-person pickup options. Register and purchase t-shirts here.

Shipping and handling costs will be covered by the participants and multiple shirts can be sent to the same address. The following shipping and handling fees apply: $7.80 for one shirt, $15.00 for two shirts, $19.00 for three shirts, $23.00 for four shirts, $27.00 for five shirts, and $31.00 for 6+ shirts. For orders placed after March 24th, local pick up will no longer be an option and shirts will need to be shipped to the participant, arriving after the event weekend.

Participants are encouraged to wear their shirt or favorite orange and maroon and submit participation photos by using the hashtag #VT32Run on Twitter and Instagram. Photos can also be submitted within the Facebook Event.
